Local Vendor Preference Program

Clayton County has established a local vendor preference in accordance to Ordinance No. 2017-29, Section 2-145.2.5 “Clayton County First Initiative- Local Vendor Preference”.


The Local Vendor Preference Program (the “LVP”) is a program established by the County Code of Ordinances to: encourage business within the County; help foster the creation of employment and business opportunities; and generate additional revenue for the County.

Who is Eligible for the LVP?

Contractors with a physical address in Clayton County, GA will be eligible for the preference.

What projects are eligible for the program?

The program applies only to Request for Bid or Request for Proposal projects throughout the County.

How do I get certified?

To become certified as a Local Vendor, you must submit a LVP application at least thirty (30) days prior to the planned submission of a bid to Contract Compliance Division, Clayton County Central Services. If your company is not certified by the bid due date, you will not be allowed to receive local vendor preference on an LVP project.

Please make sure that your application is TYPED or LEGIBLY printed and signed in blue ink.
